Summer Term

Friday 19th July

The class have enjoyed completing their DT projects this week by making their wellbeing lightboxes. We have also been concluding our units of work and reflecting on our year in Year 4. A huge well done to the class for gaining the Accelerated Reader trophy again for their quiz results and class word count. Please remember to bring a strong carrier bag again on Monday to take home the last of their work and books. We are also looking forward to our end of year certificate assembly on Monday. 

On Monday we will collect in reading books for the summer holiday. 

 

Friday 12th July

A huge well done to Harvey today, who won Dovedale's Got Talent for the Lower Juniors!! Also, well done to Darcy and Riley for gaining a REACH certificate. Next week, we are hoping to complete our light box DT project (don't forget those shoe or cereal boxes) and we have our final Forest School session on Wednesday.

Friday 28th June

Well done to Blue Whale class this week for showcasing their fantastic Year 4 work during celebration week. The class also completed a water safety swimming lesson this week learning about different beach flags and ways of safe self rescue. A huge well done to James and Archie for achieving REACH certificates today. Next week, we have celebration day on Monday where the class can bring board games in as well as DGT auditions. We also have our last Year 4 swimming lesson and Sports Day on Friday.

Friday 21st June

Well done to the children for constructing circuits in Science and using stop motion to create animations in DT this week. Blue Whales also enjoyed their expert groups on Wednesday afternoon. Next week, we have celebration week and I am looking forward to the children showing off their Year 4 skills. We also have Forest School on Wednesday and swimming on Friday. We will be completing water safety so please bring a pair of pyjamas.

Friday 14th June

Blue Whale's have enjoyed Forest School again this week as well as planning and making resources for their own stop motion animations for DT. A huge well done to Ruby and Bertie, who gained our RECH certificates today. Next week, we have expert groups on Wednesday so we do not have Forest School. This will run again on 26th June.

Friday 7th June

Blue Whale Class has enjoyed taking part in Forest School this week as well as going on the Book Bus. Thank you for your contributions of book purchases, which go towards new books for the library. Well done to everyone in today's assembly that gained a certificate for their Accelerated Reader word counts!

Thursday 23rd May

Well done to the class for persevering this week when they were tried from a busy residential week last week. On residential, Blue Whale class did Dovedale proud with their enthusiasm, determination and perseverance. This week we have enjoyed writing a description about Mount Cook Adventure Centre and concluded our units of learning ready for Summer term 2. Have a lovely break everyone and see you all on Monday 3rd June.

Friday 10th May

The children are now starting to look forward to residential next week and you may want to begin packing in preparation this weekend. Small suitcases or a holdall bag are the best size to carry and place on the coach. A huge well done to Heidi and Shannon who gained a Blue Whale award in today's REACH assembly.

Friday 3rd May 

The class enjoyed spending some time in our library on Friday afternoon with chance to take a look at our books. We also worked on our listening skills throughout Friday and discussed how to show good listening to others. During the week, the children have also designed bread cobs  ready to be bakers soon! A huge well done to Felicity and Jamie, who achieved a Blue Whale certificate in the REACH assembly this week. Enjoy the bank holiday and see everyone on Tuesday.

Friday 26th April 

The class have enjoyed having a Severn Trent water workshop this week, where they had to consider if families were water savers or wasters. The children are also enjoying having a sports coach in to teach them athletics, covering jumping, running and throwing skills. Well done to Samuel and Orla who both gained REACH certificates today.

Friday 19th April 

It has been lovely to see Blue Whale class back to school this week for the beginning for the Summer term. The children completing art printing today and enjoyed bread tasting for DT this week. Thank you to everyone that came to parent evening this week. Next week, on Wednesday, we have expert groups and a Severn Trent water workshop.
