Applying for a school place
 

Admissions to Dovedale Primary School are processed by the Local Authority as part of the Derbyshire Coordinated Admissions Scheme. You will find guidance about application dates and access to online application forms for primary school places on the Derbyshire County Council (DCC) Primary Admissions page. Applications can also be made via post or over the phone.

If you would like to make an in-year admission to move or change schools, please contact the DCC admissions team at any point in the year. 

 

If you would like to appeal against a decision, please scroll down the page for further information on making an appeal.

 

If your child attends a school outside of Derbyshire it may operate a different pattern of education.  Please see the DCC website or contact the school for further information.

For admissions in September 2022/23:

  • The application round opens on 8th November 2021 and closes on 15 January 2022 
  • The offer date for the September 2022 intake is 19 April 2022 (National Offer Day)
  • If you apply online you'll also be able to log on to the website from this date to view your offer.
  • If you don't have an email address, your offer will be posted second class on 19 April 2022

Statutory Consultation for admissions in 2022/23 (now closed)

The directors of Willows Academy Trust consulted on the admissions arrangements for Dovedale Primary School for admissions in 2022/23, in accordance with the statutory requirement set out in the School Admissions Code for schools to consult on their admissions arrangements every 7 years.  The consultation ran from 9 November to 21 December 2020.  No representations to change the arrangements were submitted.  No change has been made to the admissions arrangements at Dovedale Primary School for 2022/23

  • The application round opens on 9 November 2020 and closes on 15 January 2021
  • The offer date for the September 2021 intake is 16 April 2021

Appeals

 

If you're unhappy with the decision you can make a primary school admissions appeal

 

2020/21 (in-year admissions only)

  • If you are told of an infant, junior or primary decision after 16 April 2020 or it relates to an in-year admission you should submit your appeal within 28 days of being told that your application was unsuccessful. 

 

2021/22 (current application round)  

  • If your appeal is for a child transferring to a junior school or starting an infant or primary school in September 2021 and you are told of the decision on 16 April 2021 you should submit your appeal within 28 days (by 14 May 2021). 

  • If you are told of an infant, junior or primary decision after 16 April 2021 or it relates to an in-year admission you should submit your appeal within 28 days of being told that your application was unsuccessful. 

 

2022/23 (next application round)

  • If your appeal is for a child transferring to a junior school or starting an infant or primary school in September 2022 and you are told of the decision on 19 April 2022 you should submit your appeal within 20 school days of the offer day (by 16 May 2022). 

  • If you are told of an infant, junior or primary decision after 19 April 2022 or it relates to an in-year admission you should submit your appeal within 28 days of being told that your application was unsuccessful.
