In Summer Term 1 we will be covering the following:
Maths: Measuring mass, weight, volume and capacity. This will be followed by statistics.
English: Different genres for writing, exploring how to plan and write an informal letter. We will also explore how to edit our work and recapping different grammar concepts.
History: We will explore different modes of transport during the Victorian era and how it has changed over the years.
Science: Plants- we will be comparing growth in plants under different conditions, lifecycle of a plant and recognising plants that we eat..
Art: Textile art and learning how to do a running stitch.
Music: Music that makes you dance – How does music shape our way of life?
Computing: Creating Music- Digital media.
PE: Indoor – Net & Wall Outdoor – Throwing & catching
RE: ‘Believing’ strand: How can we learn from sacred books?
PSCHE: Growing Up inc RSE

Spellings
Our weekly spelling test of Year 2 words takes place every Friday and our first spelling test this term will be on Friday, 24th April 2025. Your child will also receive spelling practice and tests on words at their phonics level, which takes place throughout the week as part of their phonics lesson.
