Welcome to the final summer term of Year 5! It's hard to believe how quickly the year has flown by, and now we’re ready to make the most of our last few weeks together. This term is all about reflecting on our progress, reinforcing our learning, and getting ready for the exciting challenges ahead in Year 6.
In English and Maths, we'll be revisiting and building upon the core skills we've developed throughout the year. From sharpening our comprehension and writing techniques to practising mental maths strategies and problem-solving, this is our chance to consolidate our knowledge and grow in confidence. Through engaging lessons, group work, and creative tasks, we’ll make sure everyone feels prepared and proud of how far they’ve come.
In Science, our focus turns to materials and their properties. We'll be investigating different types of materials, exploring how they change, and testing their suitability for various purposes. Expect some exciting hands-on experiments and plenty of opportunities to ask questions, make predictions, and think like scientists.
Our History lessons will bring the Saxons & Vikings topic to a strong finish. We'll dive into the daily lives of the Vikings, examining their society, beliefs, and the technology that made them such formidable explorers and warriors. From longships to legends, we’ll discover what made Viking culture so unique and influential.
It’s going to be a busy, fulfilling, and fun final term—let’s make it our best one yet!
