Summer Term 2!
It’s the final term for our fabulous Year 5 class (cue dramatic music)... but we’re determined to go out with a bang – and maybe a song or two! We’ve got some brilliant things lined up, starting with our trip to Magna on the 12th. After all, what better way to inspire some persuasive writing than a day of science, steel, and possibly getting slightly soggy? Will the children remember their powers of persuasion? We’ll find out soon enough!
In between the excitement, we’ll be revisiting those all-important Year 5 skills in English and maths to make sure we’re all set for the big leap into Year 6 (gulp!). And speaking of Year 6, we’ll be joining forces with them for our summer production – rehearsals and song-learning will begin soon, so prepare your ears for some enthusiastic singing. More details will follow – watch this space!
We’ve finally wrapped up our epic Saxon and Viking adventures (it felt like we could’ve written our own saga!), and we’re now turning our attention to geography. Map work, compasses, and grid references are all on the agenda – basically, if you get lost, we’ll be the class to find you. In science, we’ll be diving into the fascinating world of Living Things – always a favourite – and we’re certain a few animal enthusiasts in the room will be in their element.
