Friday 8th April
What a way to end the term?.... final concert performances completed and an Easter bonnet contest! All the Year 4's have done fantastically this half-term and today's REACH certificate went to the whole class, well done! Enjoy the Easter break everyone, it is well deserved.

Friday 1st April
Well done to all the Year 4's this week for completing their first performances of our Hoodwinked concert to audiences. We are looking forward to performing again next week for two more shows. A huge well done to George this week for being our REACH certificate winner.

Friday 25th March
Well done to Jeremy Strong class for all their hard work on celebration week. They enjoyed the celebration day today and got to join their hub groups in the afternoon. A huge well done to Charlotte for gaining our REACH certificate this week. We are looking forward to starting to perform our Year 4 concert to parents next week. Look out for your tickets coming home early in the week!

Friday 18th March
We have really enjoyed Science Week this week. We have explored the dome today and were busy completing Science experiments yesterday. The children also had a dress up day on Tuesday along with crazy hair today for Red Nose Day! Lot's of exciting events. Next week is celebration week where we are assessing our learning so far this year, with a celebration day at the end of the week.

Friday 11th March
This week the children have been busy calculating fractions of quantities and writing explanation texts about North and South America. Alongside their work we are making progress with our concert rehearsals. A huge well done to Alex who was this week's REACH certificate winner. Next week is Science week, where we have a chance to look at the STEM hubs projects, dress up, complete Science investigations and visit an explorer dome. Lots to look forward to!

Friday 4th March
Well what a busy and short week back to school! We have kicked started our new units of learning, have begun rehearsals for our concert and even managed to fit in World Book Day! Some more information has begun to be given out residential with more to follow this half term. Medical forms are due in by Friday 11th March so Miss Barrett can provide Mount Cook with the relevant information.

Friday 18th February
Well that is another half term completed! It has been lovely to finish off some of our creative units of learning this week including our art marbling project. The children will have brought home their bookmarks. Our REACH certificate winner this week was Archie, a huge well done to you. Over the half-term holiday we have set an Art competition to complete. The design needs to be for the Derbyshire fruit van deliveries and incorporate fruit and vegetables. Please may these be completed in felt tips/ink/paint. We have also begun to work on the Year 4 Concert (more information to follow next half term) and the children have all been given a part now. If they can begin to learn their lines and continue to rehearse the songs, that would be really benefical for us when we begin Spring 2. I look forward to seeing everyone again on Tuesday 1st March. Happy half-term!
Friday 11th February
It has been Children's Mental Health Week and the children have joined in with lots of activities including deep breathing, having a chat with a friend, thinking about positives of our school day ad even dressing to express on Wednesday! Our REACH certificate winner this week is Paige, a huge well done. Next week, we are going to be holding auditions for our Year 4 Spring Concert. Don't forget to learn those lines in preparation.

Friday 4th February
The class have begun work on The Viking in my Bed by Jeremy Strong in English this week applying their descriptive and direct speech understanding to their writing. The class also created their own water cycle in a bag in Science, where we are hoping to see some evaporation and condensation effects. A Huge well done to Jacky this week for gaining our REACH certificate. Next week, we have Mental Health Week in school with lots of activities throughout the week including a 'Dress to express' day on Wednesday.

Friday 28th January
The class have enjoyed marbling for Art this week. Take a look at some photos of this, if you haven't seen them already. The children have decided to make bookmarks which we'll be completing over the next couple of weeks. Today, the class should have brought home their interim report. Please have a read through and let me know if you would like to discuss anything. We also had Ethan as this week's REACH certificate winner, a huge well done!

Friday 21st January
We have enjoyed working on comic strips in English this week and producing some excellent work today. The children have also begun taking a look at the water cycle in science, which will support some fun investigations coming up! Riley achieved our REACH certificate this week, well done Riley.

Friday 14th January
Welcome back! It has been lovely to see the class again after the Christmas holidays and they have done incredibly well at settling back into the routine and also getting used to working in a 'bubble' again. We have begun our new units of learning this week including learning about who the Vikings were in History. The class were also very respectful for Mr Griffiths in our Hockey lesson on Tuesday.
