Friday 28th March
The children have enjoyed expert groups this week and our trip to Wilsthorpe School to see their performance of Mary Poppins. It was excellent for us to have an opportunity to see how they organise their productions. We are really looking forward to our performances of "Pirates versus Mermaids" next week. Don't forget these are on Tuesday at 2pm and 5pm and Wednesday at 2pm. Please also remember we do not have swimming next week. Our next swimming lesson is Friday 25th April. A huge well done to Lorenzo, who was our REACH certificate winner today!

Friday 21st March
Happy Red Nose Day! It was excellent to see the children dressed in their bright clothes or Lego themed outfits today. The class have also worked incredibly hard during celebration week, well done. They have enjoyed science themed activities, a workshop and assemblies this week too, to celebrate the theme of "change and adapt" for science week. Next week, on Tuesday, we have a trip out to Wilsthorpe school to see their theatre performance. This is during school time and we aim to be back in time for home time. A huge well done to Evelyn, for gaining the REACH certificate today!

Friday 14th March
Well done to the class again this week for working hard on recapping some of our Year 4 skills ready for celebration week. A huge well done to Arthur for being this week's REACH certificate winner! Thank you to everyone that has handed the slip back into school to say if your child can or can not attend the evening performance for our concert. Please can you hand this in/let us know, if you have not already done so. Next week alongside celebration week, we also have science week. We have a carousel of activities with Year 3, a workshop, assemblies and our science lessons to celebrate the week. On Friday, it is Red Nose Day and the children can wear bright colours or LEGO themed outfits. Please can these outfits be suitable to wear to and from swimming or be easy to take layers off and leave in school.

Friday 7th March
It was lovely to see everyone dressed up for World Book Day yesterday. Constellation Class enjoyed different book activities including browsing the book fair and having two of our book experts come and read to them. A huge well done to Kiera, who is this week's REACH certificate winner. We begin the Usborne sponsored read on the 10th till the 17th. The children need to gain sponsors for the reading they complete during this time. It can be any reading they do themselves or get read to and can include any words! Enjoy reading your own way and logging your reading. The children have brought home their concert letters which detail dates, times and when the payments go live. This is Monday 10th March at 4pm.

Friday 28th February
The children enjoyed their first swimming lesson today and represented Dovedale very well out of school in the local community. They have also begun rehearsals for our Spring Year 3 and Year 4 concert, doing well to remember lines and beginning to add stage directions into their performances. A huge well done to Naomi, who was this week's REACH certificate winner. Next week we have World Book Day on Thursday. Please either dress as a book character or in your pyjamas.

Friday 7th February
This week we celebrated Children's Mental Health Week with assemblies, discussions and activities. We have also celebrated Number Day today, playing different number games and joining in the NSPCC Rocks battle on TT Rock Stars. Additionally, we have begun rehearsals for our Year 3 and Year 4 concert. We have been learning the songs and the children have brought home lines for auditioning next week (hopefully Tuesday morning). Next week, we have PE on Tuesday but not on Friday. A reminder that swimming letters and forms are to be returned by Thursday 13th February. Thank you if these have already been returned.

Friday 31st January
What an excellent week for Constellation Class with our violin performance on Wednesday, making water cycles in a bag and marbling! It has definitely been a fun week. Thank you for everyone that could attend the violin performance. It was lovely for the class to showcase all their learning to you. Next week, we have expert groups on Wednesday afternoon and the EYFS concert to the school on Thursday afternoon. We are also celebrating NSPCC Number Day on Friday with number activities and a TT Rocks battle.

Friday 24th January
Today, the class have enjoyed designing a project for their marbling in art. They are all excited to be marbling next week! This week the class have also produced excellent explanation texts on the water cycle. A huge well done today to Oliver, who was this week's REACH certificate winner! Next week, Year 4 have a visit from our community police officer on Tuesday afternoon and we also have our violin performance on Wednesday morning. Don't forget you are welcome to come and watch from 9:30am. This should run for about half an hour.

Friday 17th January
Constellation class have progressed really well with formal methods for multiplication and division this week. They can solve 2 and 3 digit numbers multiplied by a 1 digit number using the column method. Next week we move onto the bus stop method for division. The class has enjoyed working on their rhythmic gymnastics too, developing their rope and skipping skills. A huge well done to Jesse, who was today's REACH certificate winner.

Friday 10th January
Welcome back to Constellation Class! It has been excellent to see everyone and start January with a great fresh attitude to their learning. We have begun some of our new units of learning this week including states of matter in Science, marbling in Art and festivals in RE. A huge well done to Ollie, who was our REACH certificate winner this week! Next week, we start back with our last violin lessons before our performance to you at the end of the month.
