Class Blog.

Each week, usually on a Friday, you will find an update about our weeks learning and adventures! Within this class blog I will summarise what we have been up to in our lessons, inform you of any WOW moments from the week and also remind you of any useful information, whether this be homework or dates. This information will also be posted on dojo so if you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me via dojo or email.

Friday 21st March 2023:

Hi All,

Happy Friday - even though it's raining!

We have had a brilliant first week back in school. In English we have been learning about Greek Myths and in Maths we have continued our learning on fractions - in particular looking at tenths. Our afternoons have seen the introduction to Alexander the Great, differences and equality in PSCHE, learning the colours in Spanish, unpicking different expressions about God in RE and learning about ceramics in Art.

As you may have noticed, the majority of children no longer attend phonics so we have been using this extra time to master Y3/4 spelling words, handwriting joins and drilling fluency in the four mathematical operations.

This week there will be no spelling test as we are using the week to address any spelling errors from the previous term. Spellings will begin again from next week.

Group 1 - now, how, town, brown, down, own, blow, snow, grow and show.

Group 2 - war, warm, towards, television, treasure, usual, enjoyment, sadness, careful and playful.

Group 3 - scheme, chorus, chemist, echo, character, stomach, monarch, school, anchor and chaos.

Homework this week is My Maths and is linked to our learning on fractions. Merits up for grabs for completed homework.

A polite reminder that children shouldn't be wearing jewellery to school other than one small set of stud earrings. We have seen quite a few friendship bracelets, necklaces and large hoop earrings creeping in this week. Please could you monitor this at home in the mornings.

Have a lovely day and weekend.
