Class Blog

Each week, usually on a Friday, you will find an update about our weeks learning and adventures! Within this class blog I will summarise what we have been up to in our lessons, inform you of any WOW moments from the week and also remind you of any useful information, whether this be homework or dates. This information will also be posted on dojo so if you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me via dojo or email.

Friday 3rd March 2023:

Happy Friday All,

A busy first week back in Tutankhamun Class. In English we have learned about the ten labours of Heracles as a Greek Myth, in Maths we have continued to convert mm, cm and m to find equivalent measurements. In the afternoons we have looked at what we define as a celebration, what makes a healthy and unhealthy relationship, the parts of plants and their functions and even begun mastering our concert songs! The children also visited their expert hub group on Tuesday. It seems they had a lovely catch up with their peers and hub leaders with this.

Next week we will start to use some of our afternoon slots for our concert rehearsals. The children are looking forward to this!

Spelling booklets have been stapled into their diaries today. Apologises for the delay! In true technology style our school printer broke on Tuesday preventing us from printing them out! All sorted and we are ready to go with our spellings for next week! Homework this week is SPAG.com. We have uploaded two tasks on here. Additional merits are up for grabs for those who complete both tasks.

Have a lovely weekend!
Miss Bestwick :)

Friday 17th February 2023:

Hi All,
Happy Friday!

I am not entirely sure how another half term has passed already but we have had a wonderful time as always! We have thrown so much into the half term - learning the formal methods for the four operations in Maths, producing advertisements and letters in English and in the afternoon we have expanded our knowledge on animals including humans, how to stay healthy, the Bible and Europe. We have also learnt new skills such as sewing, netball and Tai Chi. We have been so impressed with their learning behaviours and attitudes all half term and the children are making many individual successes.

Another half term full of celebrations in terms of behaviour for Tutankhamun class. We are reaching another half term break with no reflection visits and only positive points in class. The children's behaviour and kindness towards each other makes our job a pleasure! Thinking ahead to the next half term, we have lots more to learn, starting with our unit of Ancient Greece, learning measurement in Maths and narratives in English. Part of our afternoons will be dedicated to our Lower Junior performance ' The Warrior Queen.'

As I appreciate some of you may need to book time off work, I wanted to make you aware of our current plans with performance dates. As it currently stands, we are planning on performing to parents on the following dates.
Wednesday 29th March - Evening performance
Thursday 30th March - Afternoon performance
Friday 31st March - Afternoon performance

Next half term our indoor PE will be in the classroom and will work around performances so children will not need their PE kits for this. Our outdoor PE session will remain on a Tuesday. A remainder that we have an INSET day on Monday 27th February. Children will return on Tuesday 28th.

Have a lovely half term break.
