Friday 7th July
Well done to everyone for taking part in Sports Day today! You managed this brilliantly alongside having our last swimming lesson of Year 4 too. The children will continue their swimming lessons in Year 5. Next week, we have Dovedale's Got Talent and our class swap morning. The end of year reports are also due to be sent home on Friday.

Friday 30th June
It was lovely to see the auditions for Dovedale's Got Talent today! Well done to all the Lower Juniors, who took their time to rehearse and prepare. We will reveal who has got through to the finals next week. We have a busy week next week with:
Monday 3rd July - Forest School in the morning due to watching the Year 5/6 concert in the afternoon
Tuesday 4th July - Expert/hub groups in the afternoon
Thursday 6th July - Year 4 treat/celebration day including some sports activities so please wear your PE kit
Friday 7th July - Swimming (last lesson in Year 4) and Sports Day, therefore please be wearing school PE kit again today

Friday 23rd June
Well done to the whole class this week for working hard during celebration week! We are having a celebration day, wearing our own clothes on Monday, to celebrate. Also, thank you to everyone that attended the class assembly yesterday. The children showcased their learning for last half-term brilliantly! Next week, we will hold our Lower Junior Dovedale's Got Talent auditions so get rehearsing your acts.

Friday 16th June
The class have enjoyed taking part in a Multi-Sports festival this week, having a try at Boccia, cricket, archery and javelin throwing. We have also begun rehearsals ready for next week's class assembly. You are invited to attend on Thursday, hopefully beginning at around 9:10am. A huge well done to Thomas and Harrison this week for gaining REACH certificates for their effort in the classroom. Next week, we have celebration week and National Sports Week. Also, don't forget it is an Inset Day on the Friday.

Friday 9th June
It has been lovely to see the children back at school this week and enjoying the sunshine! They enjoyed having their first Forest School session on Monday where we explored the willows, played team games and created some environmental artwork or sculptures. Next week, we will be taking part in the Times Table Check so please be practising those times tables in preparation! We are also going on a trip to take part in a KS2 Multi-Sports Festival on Thursday.

Friday 26th May
Well, what a half-term! Julius Caesar class have worked incredibily hard again and even been on their first school residential. It was a pleasure to take all of the children to Mount Cook Adventure Centre, where they challenged themselves with acitvities, organising themselves and managing their behaviour on (maybe) less sleep then normal! They all had a brilliant time and we luckily had lovely weather. Next half-term, has some exciting events coming up too, including Forest School, a Year 4 celebration day and our class assembly. We are looking forward to all of these in Summer Term 2. Enjoy your half term and see you again on Monday 7th June.

Friday 12th May
The children enjoyed their water safety swimming lesson today and learnt ways for self rescue as well as looking at the meanings of the different flags they might see at the beach. Well done to Josh, who received our REACH certificate this week for challenging himself in lessons. Next week, is our Year 4 residential on Wednesday to Friday, we are looking forward to taking the children away. I will be giving reminders and sharing final information on Tuesday before we go.

Friday 5th May
We celebrated the Coronation on Wednesday with the children dressing in red/white/blue. We made flags and crowns, sang and had an afternoon picnic with Year 3's and 4's. It was lovely to see the class have a lovely day! We also revealed Friday 28th's REACH winner on Tuesday, which was Bay for his brilliant effort in the classroom. Enjoy another bank holiday weekend!

Friday 21st April
It has been lovely to have the children back at school and working hard. They have enjoyed being some of our new learning this week, including bread tasting for DT, taking part in Athletics and going on a sound walk in Science. A huge well done to Dominic, who received our REACH certificate for his effort in the classroom. Next week, we are looking forward to having Derbyshire Cricket in school on Tuesday, for a cricket lesson.
