Friday update

Hello and welcome to Friday's update!

I cannot believe how quickly it has come around!

This week you should have received a text telling you who your child's teacher will be for next year. If your child, or you, are unfamiliar with the teacher please check the 'who's who' on the website.

We are not in a position to do 'meet the teacher' sessions this term due to the guidance however we will hold one in September as previously informed, when we do the children's transition on the Friday.

Some parents have asked about continued access to the current learning activities over the summer. We will hold the webpages the same for as long over the summer as possible to allow children to complete any work they may need to catch up on.

We will also be posting year group challenge work on the class pages for the children over the summer. This challenge work is optional -we know it's the holidays-but some parents have suggested that as they are working they would appreciate some focus for their children and to also support their progress in time for the September return.

This will take the form of basic skill online learning activities, spellings, reading etc and will be designed for independent completion as much as possible. There will be a chart for parents to record their children's engagement. The chart will then be returned to school for acknowledgement.

If any families need printed versions please contact the school office.

Catch up sessions

As soon as all the children are back in school we will assess the children using a baseline test then teach to the gaps. We will then reassess at half term and determine which children need further intervention. You will be kept informed through this process.

There will be a parent's evening as usual in the autumn term-however it may take a different format or be spread over a number of days. But we will of course let you know the details of this.

As the school is planning for a full opening in September there will be necessary changes to ensure the continued safety of all our school community.

These will include staggered drop off and pick up times. We will inform you of these requirements in due course.

We hope you all have a lovely sunny weekend.
