Design and Technology at Dovedale
Here at Dovedale, our pupils undertake an incredibly wide range of activities during our Design and Technology lessons. We have the opportunity to plan, develop, communicate, build, research and evaluate.
Our lessons range from textile work to constructing mechanisms and building structures. We love to cook and even explore electrical and computing systems! Researching the work of key individuals and movements within the world of Design and Technology encourages us to engage with original thinkers and develop an understanding of the amazing world of Technology all around us.
Enrichment Opportunities:
At Dovedale we have an amazing STEM hub that offers our children opportunities to enrich their experience of the world of Design and Technology. We recently enjoyed a 'who can build the tallest structure' afternoon, and have even designed and made an eco-vehicle in our first whole-school hub competition. Our hub has also put on a cake sale to raise money to buy important new equipment for the school.
We are looking forward to many more activities to challenge and inspire us!
