It has been a long term, but the children have all done brilliantly! This week we have completed our DT stitching (I hope you like your Christmas cards). We also enjoyed our Christmas party on Tuesday, it was great to see the children enjoy the party games and dancing with their friends. Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year everyone. See you all on Monday 9th January 2023!

Friday 16th December 2022
Well done to everyone in the class, who has been able to persevere with coughs and colds this week. We have worked on collaborative poems and then independent poems today. We have written them about winter and made sure they have a rhyming pattern. The class have also do incredibly well with their cross stitching for DT. A huge well done to Harris, who is this week's REACH certificate winner! Next week, we have our Lower Junior (Year 3 and Year 4) Christmas party on Tuesday. Children can come in their party outfits on this day but do not need any extra food or drink than normal.

It was lovely to see the class in their Christmas Jumpers on Thursday, very festive! The children are progressing well with their violin lessons. We have one more lesson before Christmas and then next half-term too. A huge well done to Jack, who is our REACH certificate winner this week. Next week, we have a special music performance in assembly on Monday. Wait and see which member of the mid-day team is performing.

Well done to everyone in school this week. I know a lot of our class has been feeling under the weather. The class enjoyed completing an egg-periment in Science, looking at the affect of different liquids on eggs that represented our teeth. A huge well done to Henry, who was our REACH certificate winner this week! Don't forget that on Thursday next week it is Christmas jumper day.

The children have worked incredibly hard during celebration week, well done everyone! It was also brilliant to see the children's progress with their violin lessons this week. On Thursday, we had the art gallery in school and the class enjoyed having a look around at everyone's work. A huge well done to Sammy, who was this week's REACH certificate winner and also Lilly M for being the mid-days certificate winner!

It was lovely to see the children dressed in non-uniform today for Children in Need. The class have enjoyed their PE activities this week - Hockey, Tia-Chi and Nerf Wars. We have also took part in Anti-Bullying activities each week including odd sock day, looking at the effect of words on our feelings and writing kindness messages. A huge well done to Cora for gaining this week's REACH certificate and even getting to meet Pudsey! Next week is Celebration Week, where we will assess how well the Year 4's are doing against this year's objectives and targets. Also, don't forget our football day on Monday.

The children have been respectful in celebrating remembrance day. We worked on diary entries as a soldier and showcased our work with the school on Thursday. We also had a service today and visited our school display to add poppies. Next week is Anti-Bullying week, where we will do some short activites each day. Don't forget your odd socks on Monday! It is also Children in Need on Friday with non-uniform day and a cake sale.

It has been a lovely to see the children back to school this week. The class have begun some of their Autumn 2 units including digestion and teeth as well as stitching. They also got to join in a keeping healthy Workshop on Wednesday. Also, thank you to everyone that has attended parents evening and meetings this week. It has been a pleasure to meet you all and talk through your child's learning. Next week we will carry on beginning some more of our units of work. Remember it is also individual photos on Monday.

Well done to all of Julius Caesar class for completing their first half-term in Year 4. They have done BRILLIANTLY! This week we have completed our first units of work with drawings of buildings and successful quiz question knowledge. Also, a huge well done to Noah, who gained our REACH certificate today. He is a true environment expert. Enjoy the spooky disco and have a great half-term. See you all again on Tuesday 1st November. I also look forward to seeing you all for parents meetings that week.

The class really enjoyed going to their expert groups today and having a go at some new task as well as being set some holiday homework. Well done to Lottie and Lilly that were part of our Year 3 and 4 Football team on Thursday night. Dovedale came 2nd out of the teams that competed. In Science this week the children got to display there learning in their books with a two page poster. The results were fantastic!

It was lovely to see the children dressed up for our Harvest celebrations today and thank you to everyone that could donate food to our school collection. Julius Caesar class enjoyed our computing lessons this week, especially when adding content online by maling music. A huge well done to Bethan for being this week's REACH certificate winner!

The children did an excellent job this week campaigning to be a school councillor representative and the class enjoyed voting on Wednesday. Well done to Harris and Harrison for being voted our class representstives this year! We also enjoyed celebrating European Languages day by learning some Italian words. A huge well done to Jeanie, who is this week's REACH star!

we have enjoyed joining in or beginning some different activities this week including a class Thrive session, designing our Christmas cards (which we send off and you can order later in the term) and having our first violin lesson. A huge well done to Lucy today for being our REACH star for her participating in lessons! Don't forget that any more school council applications are due in on Monday. Next week will include our school council campaigns and election day.

It was great to see the children bring their bikes into school today for a bike check. All the class got to hear how to look after their bikes and make sure they are roadworthy. A huge well done to our first REACH certificate winner, Tom, for being a star student in the classroom! See you all on Tuesday again after Monday's bank holiday.

It has been a pleasure to meet everyone in Julius Caesar class this week. The children have settled really well into the year group and back into the school routine. Everyone has been very respectful and it was excellent to see their teamwork and collaboration as a class during PE today.
