Welcome to Autumn 1!
We are really looking forward to exploring the fascinating world of the Scots and Saxons, and discovering how their invasions shaped Britain. This half-term, we’ll be developing our skills in researching and investigating a variety of sources, with a particular focus on explaining how and why events happened.
In mathematics, we’ll begin the year by strengthening our understanding of place value and number, while also tackling puzzles and problems to apply our learning. English lessons will bring plenty of exciting challenges as we start to explore what it means to be a Year 5 writer, building on the knowledge gained in Year 4 and learning how to learn even more effectively.
