Spring Term

Friday 29th March 

What an incredible week for Blue Whale Class taking part in our concert performances. They were all amazing in their roles and some children even stepped up with different roles or extra lines when required. We have definitely got some budding actors and performers in the class. On Thursday, Orla, Erinn, Bertie and Samuel represented our class as part of Dovedale Parliament on a trip to Parliament in London. It was a brilliant trip and they represented Dovedale fantastically. Happy Easter everyone and have a well deserved break after a busy half term. See you all again on Monday 15th April for the start of the Summer term.

Friday 22nd March

We have completed our last week of rehearsals this week and are ready to perform our Lower Junior concert to audiences next week. We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday at 2pm/5pm or Wednesday at 2pm. Remember we also break up on Thursday for the Easter holidays.

Friday 15th March 

The class have worked incredibly hard this week for celebration week. They have also really enjoyed Science week. They have completed science investigations, completed activities as a carousel with Year 3 and Year 4, watched a live workshop on a farm and took part in our school workshop. Next week, are our final concert rehearsals before we perform to you. Extra tickets are now on sale and tickets will be coming home soon for you to bring on performance days.

Friday 8th March 

The class enjoyed World Book Day this Thursday with a book tasting, hearing a story from the Year 6 book experts and sharing class favourites. A huge well done to Megan, who was rewarded the REACH certificate today. Next week we have Celebration week, Science week and Red Nose Day. Due to swimming being on the Friday along with crazy hair day, we are allowing Year 4 to also consider wearing a headband, wig or hat as they are unable to have any hair products or colourings.

Friday 1st March 

Blue Whale class did brilliantly going to West Park Leisure Centre for their first swimming lesson today and they represented Dovedale fantastically too. A huge well done to Angel, who was this week's Blue Whale of the week in our REACH assembly. Don't forget World Book Day next week, where the children can either dress as a favourite book character or in their pyjamas.

Friday 16th February

Blue Whale Class have compelted another half term, well done! This week the Year 4's have begun reading through their concert scripts together ready for our reheasals in the hall next half term. Their singing has been excellent too! The class also finished their art projects this week with their marbling bookmarks. Next term, the class are looking forward to starting swimming. Thank you for all your completed swimming forms being returned to school. Have a lovely half term and see everyone on Monday 26th February to begin Spring term 2.

Friday 9th February

Well done to Blue Whale Class for winning the Lower Junior trophie again this half term for the most words read on accelerated reader!! Also, the class did brilliantly to audition for Lower Junior concert. Parts will be given out next week. Please remember that we have an Inset Day on Friday 16th February so our last day of the half term will be Thursday 15th.

Friday 2nd February

The children have enjoyed celebrating NSPCC Number Day today by playing number games, completing TT Rockstars and designing their own board game. The class have also enjoyed marbling for art ready to make a bookmark next week. A huge well done to Harvey and Henry, who were our REACH certificate winners today. Next week, we are celebrating Children's mental health week with a small activity each day. We are also hoping to have auditions on Tuesday for our Lower Junior Concert.

Friday 26th January

It was fantastic to see Blue Whale class showcase their violin learning and talents on Wednesday morning, which concluded our violin learning for the year. The class have really enjoyed their lessons and progressed brilliantly to be able to perform rounds and work on the texture of music. Next week, we have NSPCC Number Day on Friday so don't forget to get creative and come in number themed clothes!

Friday 19th January

The class have taken part in their last violin lesson this week with only our concert to showcase their learning left. You are welcome to come and watch on Wednesday 24th January in the hall. A huge well done to Oakley, who was our REACH certificate winner this week.

Friday 12th January 

It has been excellent to welcome everyone back this week, where we have begun our new units of learning. These include North and South America, The water cycle and marbling. We only have 2 violin lessons left, the last one being our concert in the hall. Parents welcome at 9:30am on Wednesday 24th January. We look forward to seeing you.
