At Dovedale Primary school our intent is that our children will develop personal and academic attributes that will enable them to thrive in the community they belong to. We develop in our children a pride in their sense of belonging to Dovedale Primary school which is shown in their behaviour and attitudes around school.
We value our children as individuals and our whole school community is expected to be respectful and mindful of the needs, beliefs and aspirations of others. We believe all cultures, religions, orientations and choices have worth if they are not detrimental to the well being of others and we strive to support our children to understand the richness in diversity.
Our school values are REACH: Respect, Enjoy, Achieve, Challenge and Health (bodies and minds). These values have been created to support our children's personal development as they travel through our school.
Our school value of Respect underpins all we do in school and is a key element of our behaviour strategy.
Through these values our children learn to be part of a community who show care and respect for themselves and others and the world around them.
We link our values to the key British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, mutual respect and tolerance.
The children receive regular assemblies on values including how our school values are represented in British values as well as our values being incorporated into PSHE lessons.
Our children worked collectively to develop a school verse which is learnt by all our children.
