Messages from Mrs Ganguly
Hello!
I hope you had a great Jubilee weekend and enjoyed the lovely festivities with family and friends.
It's the term already before the children go up to the juniors and we are going to make the most of the last few weeks in year 2 by having a fun-filled time full of exciting activities.
Please note that our PE days are the same as last term. They are Tuesday (outdoor PE) and Friday (indoor PE). Please send your child into school in their PE kit on those days.
An updated timetable for Summer 2 is included below for your information. Please scroll down for Curriculum information for next half term. Your child should already have a paper copy of the Summer 2 Spelling List, and this is also included below.
This term our class book will be Lost and Found by Oliver Jeffers. It is a really sweet story about the friendship between a little boy and a lost penguin, who in fact turns out not to be lost at all, just lonely. The book explores themes of friendship and bravery as the little boy sets out on a mission to find a home for a penguin who has mysteriously turned up on his doorstep.
Continuing with World War II in history, we will be having a themed WWII day on Monday 13th June. Children are invited to dress in any WWII or 1940's related clothing: evacuees, soldiers, land girls etc. We are looking forward to a fun day including listening and dancing to 1940's music, as well as making gas mask boxes and other craft activities.
Our Key Stage 1 end of year trip is coming up soon, and we are all very excited about our trip to The National Forest Adventure Farm on Wednesday 13th July!
Our class assembly will be on Thursday 7th July! This will be in the hall, from 9.10am - approx 9.30am. Please note that the hall will be well ventilated and chairs will be socially distanced for you. You may wish to wear a face covering. Please could you advise me if you do not wish your child to appear in any photographs or videos of this event.
Please don't hesitate to contact me on dojo or email if you would like to discuss / ask anything.
Many thanks for your support.
Kind regards
Mrs Ganguly.
