Hello everyone,
I hope you've had a lovely weekend and are still well and safe :)
Thank you again for all the wonderful learning you are doing at home. The pictures and videos you are sending are fab and they make me smile on a daily basis. Remember, if you would like to share the children's fantastic learning and achievements with the rest of the school, which are displayed on Mrs Houseman's page, please send them to blog@dovedale.derbyshire.sch.uk.
This coming week, I was hoping to phone the children for a chat and to see how they are getting on and for a general catch up. I will aim to make these calls between 10.3am and midday each day so that there is a greater chance of catching you all. The call will be seen as a 'No caller Id or unknown number'. I am aiming to call about 6 children each day and I will try to email you to let you know which day. Let me know if that day doesn't work for you :)
Regarding the home learning, the government have released online phonic lessons beginning at 10am. I have included these on the planning and there is more information below on the letter. I have not seen the content yet so I will access it at the same time and let you know my thoughts :) Let me know your feedback too!
In literacy, we are focusing on the story of 'Jack and the Beanstalk'. This will include the children undertaking a 'Talk for Writing' story map that we have undertaken in class on numerous occasions with different stories. I have included examples below to support and on class Dojo, a little while ago, I posted our 'Talk for Writing' story map and actions of the story 'Goldilocks and the three bears' which I thought would support this learning.
Remember, if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me :) I am really looking forward to speaking to all the children this week - I do miss our Team France.
Thank you again for all your support :)
Kindest regards, Miss H.
PS. I am hoping to post new stories read by myself and Mrs Homer today so please visit our 'Messages from Miss Hutchinson'.
