Wednesday 2nd December

Maths and English

Please ask your child to complete the maths, reading and SPAG booklets. They can either be printed out or your child can write the answers into their home learning book.

Ask your child if they know the Christmas story already? It is a very important story in the bible for Christians as it tells the story of when Jesus, the Son of God, was born.

Play the video clip and ask your child to watch the Christian story.

Using the  Christmas story powerpoint, go through what happens in the Christmas story. Encourage your child to ask questions about it. To ensure the story is embedded, you could have a go at acting out the story with your child.

Once you have finished reiterate that this story is so important to Christians as it tells the story of when Jesus, the Son of God, was born. Jesus is a very important person in the Christian faith so they celebrate the birth of Jesus every year and that’s where Christmas was said to come from! Ask the children how do you think it makes Christians feel?

Ask your child to retell the Christmas story in their own words in their home learning book.

The Christmas story has been told for years by many different people in many different ways. Usually around this time of year we would do a nativity with the year 2’s which tells the story of the Christmas story. Watch the Christmas story told in a different way – using sand!
