Good morning everyone! Lessons today are:
Maths - Recall multiplication facts for the 3 times table
Start with counting in 50s and 100s, how many of each can you tackle in 2 minutes.
Then, use the fact that times tables can be worked out in any order (commutative) to work out other facts relating to the three times table. For example, if 3 x 4 = 12, then 4 x 3 = 12 too.
Want a greater challenge? Then work on the 3 star, which requires you to use the = (same as) sign to work out other multiplications that are equivalent to the 3 times tables.
English - Read chapter 1 and chapter 2 from 'I was there... step back into Victorian England.' Discuss what you have found out about what life was like for Charlotte, the Royal Nursemaid for Queen Victoria's daughter. Can you think of questions you would like to ask the Nursemaid?
Phonics - Use Acorn Adventure on Phonics Play to engage with alternative pronunciations of the 'i' grapheme. Read words tin, pin, his, milk, link, mild, wild, blind, behind, remind and begin sorting them based on the sound they make.
Art - Recreate the starry night in two ways. One in dark using pencils to shade and another in colour using paints. Remember to apply last weeks skills/techniques by using swirls, circles, curly lines and dots to create effect. Also find out more about Vincent Van Gogh on the following animation:
