This week in school would be continuing with our assessments in English and Maths so we are providing a range of practice materials for your child to engage with. Do not worry that your child is missing the rest of their assessments, we will catch up on these once they return.
Lessons today are:
Maths (1) - Put your skills and knowledge to the test by applying your number and place value skills to the test in a range of mini assessments linking to statistics and length and height.
Maths (2) -
Complete times table practice using the multiplication wheels. Try and recall facts linking to your 1x, 2x, 3x, 5x and 10x tables. Recall times tables in order before progressing on to recalling times tables out of order for example 3 x 10 = ?, 7 x 10 = ?, 12 x 10 = ?.
Engage with the 'sound check' on TTRS and email your updated score to your class teacher.
PSHE - Think about a current topical debate of your own or choose from the list below. Research the pros and cons to the issue and decide which side of the argument you agree with. Create a speech to persuade the government with your decision.
1. Should home work be banned?
2. Should children be allowed to eat unhealthy foods?
3. Should people stop going to zoos because animals are kept captive?
PE - Engage with a physical activity. This could involve a Joe Wicks workout, Just Dance clips on YouTube or Derbyshire School Games.
If you would like to do additional activities you could:
Read your book to an adult.
