Happy Valentines Day.
Another half term done! The children have worked really hard as always this half term and have been enjoying our class text. We will still be reading the book next half term. Next half term we are still swimming. Please note that Monday 24th Feb is an INSET day and so children are back to school 25th Feb. Have a lovely half term.

Another brilliant couple of weeks. The children have been working hard as usual and tacking some tricky concepts (especially in maths). The children have worked hard writing their own take on the Holes story so far. Next week we will be doing out 500 word story entry for the Trent College competition. The children have been getting on well with swimming, please note there is no swimming on the last Friday of this half term (14.02.20). Please make sure you are checking the class web page for dates (in the diary dates section) as this will often answer your question so you don't have to wait for a dojo reply from me.

Where have the last two weeks gone?! It hasn't taken us long to get back into the swing of things. In English the last two weeks we have started reading the holes texts and have already explored the framed narrative and show not tell descriptions. In maths we have looked at finding fractions and percentages of amounts. In topic we started with some basic USA research and created a fact file. In science we have looked at the relative sizes of the earth, sun and moon as well as how we know the world isn't flat. A busy two weeks. It was only this week (w/c 13.01.20) we didn't have forest school, we do have forest school next week.

Forest School Week 1
Thursday 2nd January
Happy New Year, I hope you all had a lovely Christmas. Thank you so much to those who bought me a gift, it was very kind and much appreciated. We will be all set to hit the ground running on Monday, our class book this term is Holes by Louis Sachar (details regarding the Holes playhouse trip will be given closer to the time). Our topic this term is the Land of the Free where we will have a geography focus, exploring different aspects of America. In science we will be looking at earth and space, RE will focus on why Easter is important to Christians, in PSHE we will be learning about legal drugs such as caffeine and cigarettes and in art we will be making dreamcatchers. This half term we will also be going swimming every Friday morning, we will also have Forest School on a Wednesday (morning/afternoon dependent on the week). Busy, busy, busy!!!
Diary dates have been updated at the bottom of the page - please check them out!
