Our class text is " Where the mountain meets the moon" A book set in China which explores Chinese culture and the Ancient Art of storytelling.

This page contains the information for the Spring Curriculum. Our Knowledge block for this term is the Stone Age and in many of our subjects our lessons will link around this theme.
Our class text remains as " Where the mountain meets the moon" A book set in China which explores Chinese culture and the Ancient Art of storytelling.
The list below includes the theme of what we are learning about in each subject. For more detailed information on a lesson by lesson basis, please see the Medium Term Plan (MTP) below.
Maths - In this half term we'll be learning about what some people think is a complex subject, algebra! However it really isn't as difficult as most people think and I know that Year 6 will take it all on board quickly and will soon be experts! After this, we'll move onto learning about ratio and proportion as well as carrying on with all our arithmetic practise.
English - We'll carry on with our enjoyable class text and look at writing a newspaper report pretending that we are journalists. We'll learn all the skills required and write our very own newspaper report based on something that we've read in WTMMTM. We'll also learn about some of the other different text types. We'll of course carry on practising our comprehension skills and look at the different types of questions and how to answer them.
