Spring Term 1

Friday 18th February

The final week is here before we break up and we've been wrapping up our units for this term.  This has included finding out about the internet and the world wide web in ICT and interpreting charts of data in Maths. We have been finding out about Spanish words for family members and our pets, being amazed that we could guess some because of how similar the words were to English already.  Keeping with the international topic, we have been comparing  different European countries to make Top Trump Cards of their geographical features.

A Huge well done to Maximus this week for gaining our REACH certificate.  Well done!

Homework for the half term break = keep reading to your adults to keep up the good habit.

Hope you can visit Ilkeston Market place 5pm on 12th February to see the Magical Lantern procession.

Friday 11th February

It has been a fun week this week with Mental Health activities and the performance of our long awaited Class Assembly.   We dressed up for the "Dress to Express" day and have been carrying out a whole host of activities to boost our Mental Health such as giving compliments, practising breathing techniques and catching up with our friends through a good chat.

It was fabulous to see our parents on Thursday especially to watch our Assembly and to see all the amazing things we've been doing in Year, from DT to Science and PE to PSCHE. I know the class have made many people incredibly proud and deserved their moment in the lime-light.

A Huge well done to Harrison this week for gaining our REACH certificate.  Well done!

Homework for 18/02/22 = MyMaths, spellings, times tables and reading.

Friday 4th February

The class have begun making different stitches in our Textile Art and had to summon plenty of perseverence when the thread kept slipping out of the needle.

Our assembly practise is coming on brilliantly, with songs and some exercises ready to show our marvellous parents next week.  In Maths this week we have been applying our knowledge of adding and subtracting to dealling with money; calculating totals and working out change.

A Huge well done to Lilly D this week for gaining our REACH certificate.  Well done!

Next week, we have Mental Health Week in school with lots of activities throughout the week including a 'Dress to express' day on Wednesday.

Homework for 11/02/22 =, spellings, times tables and reading.

Friday 28th January

The class have started to practise their lines for our up and coming Class assembly, which combines what we have been learning about countries in Europe and the animals that live their. We have also started to look at non-chronological reports in English and hope to present what we know about different European animals in this format to show our parents in the assembly.

The class had an amazing time with Ann making Lanterns for the Festivan of Lights event taking place on 12th February.  We hope you can make it to Ilkeston Market Place at 5pm to see the Magical lantern procession.

Today, the class should have brought home their interim report. Please have a read through and let me know if you would like to discuss anything.

We also had Lottie as this week's REACH certificate winner, well done!

Homework for 04/02/22 = TT Rockstars battle, reading and spellings.
