Spring 1

Friday 14th January

We have now begun our Spring term in school and it great to see all the children back in Michael Morpurgo class. This term I would like to promote the enjoyment of reading and reading for pleasure in our class. As part of our new reading display in the classroom, it would be great to collect some Class Book selfies from the children. This could be a selfie or picture of your child with their favourite or current story book.
Alongside your picture your child could challenge themselves to write a couple of sentences explaining why they chose this certain story and what they enjoyed/enjoy about it. I am hoping this could promote the enjoyment of reading in our class and a chance for students to recommend books to their fellow classmates.
Pictures can either be sent through dojo message or emailed across to me, and once I have enough pictures I can begin the new display🤩

Thank you for your support!

I have left a note in your child's planner about learning their assembly scripts and song lyrics also, ready for next Thursday! In regards to the book selfies, I have now started the display. Thank you to those who have already forwarded them across. I have rewarded your child a merit if they have challenged themselves to write the accompanying sentence about their book too. For our REACH nomination this week, this was Archie. A great big congratulations to you :) In terms of homework, please can your child read at least three times to an adult at home. 3 times will reward your child with a merit.

We have had lots of fun learning our assembly scripts in school this week. I have been pleased to see your hard work paying off.
Thanks again and have a lovely weekend!

Friday 28th January 2022

Morning everyone, Just wanted to say a massive thank you to those who attended our class assembly yesterday! I am very proud of them all as I'm sure you are too :) I was so pleased to see how much effort went into learning their lines and the song also, so thanks again for your support at home. Our REACH assembly nomination this week was rewarded to Ryan. Fantastic and well deserved!

We have had great fun marbling this week in art and produced some great designs (see Class dojo for photos) Additionally, I have enjoyed reading your child's Kenning poems, which we have produced in English. It was lovely to showcase these to our fellow classmates. We have finished our multiplication and division topic in maths and heading into area next week!
