Welcome to our class page!
We are a Year 2 class and our teachers are Mrs Potter (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday morning) and Mrs Tomlinson (Thursday afternoon, Friday).
Messages from Mrs Potter and Mrs Tomlinson
We hope you're all well. We can't quite believe that it is almost the end of our year. Thank you for your continued support with the children's home learning, it's great to see that they are obviously still motivated and trying hard with their work in these last few weeks of a very unusual term!
Lessons this week focus on recapping basic skills in literacy, and consolidating the geography in the form of planning an 'Around the World' trip! Maths lessons focus on revision of 2D and 3D shape as well as bar modelling. Mrs Ganguly has kindly shared her videos for the maths and the science lessons.
Hopefully you will have received the dojo message regarding our special zoom call on Friday 17th July. This will be a 'party' call and will be split into two parts which will include: Italy's Got Talent, a variety of party games, talking time - this will be chance for the children to ask questions about next year, and also a little treat for the children at the end. We really hope everyone will be able to make it! Details of how to join the calls will be sent during the week. We are inviting the children to make and wear party hats (see below for ideas) and also children at home can wear party clothes if they like. We are really looking forward to it!
Thank you so much for all you are continuing to do. Please don't hesitate to get in touch about anything.
Our topic is:
|Where in the World could my Passport take me?|
Happy Birthday to you!
As we haven't been able to celebrate your birthdays at school, we are sending lots of birthday wishes to you at home! We hope you have had lots of fun with your families!

Look at what we did at school!
We had such a fun, muddy time at Forest School! We loved exploring our outdoor space, playing games, making and following trails for each other. Thank you to Miss Barratt for organising such great activities for us!
We have loved Ling Peng's visits. We have learnt a lot about Chinese New Year and have loved listening to her traditional Chinese stories and music. We are very excited about our Chinese New Year performance and exhibition
Look at our wonderful homework creations!
We had a lovely visit to St Mary's Church for 'The Real Christmas'. Thank you to all of the volunteers at St Mary's and all parents who were able to help with the trip.
We have been learning about Apollo 11 and in DT we are making our own rockets. In science we made our own 'rocket explosion' by adding some mints to Coca-Cola. We loved the result!
We had a lovely trip to West Park, where we took time to think about how the park has developed over time. We would love to share our West Park facts with you at home - ask us! We are experts!
Our classroom is full of wonderful time-machines that are ready to zoom back into the past or into the future! We loved showing and talking about our creations.
