Friday 18th December:
We have made it to the Christmas holidays! Merry Christmas everyone. The children have worked so hard all term, right up until their Christmas break. So I hope all of Cheetah Class enjoy their break, they deserve it. The last Reach winner of 2020 was Franklyn today. Well done!
In January, our new PE days are Tuesday and Friday. We are now asking that the children do not bring a PE kit into school, but they wear their PE kit on their PE days to school (not tracksuits, or clothes with logos, but school PE kit please). Therefore, if Cheetah Class can wear their school PE kit on Tuesday and Friday each week of the of the half-term. Thank you.

There have been some excellent newspaper reports to read today. Well done Cheetah Class for writing about the character Edwin's adventure into the Norman camp during the Battle of Hastings. Everyone has worked well to solve division calculations using the short division (bus stop) method, during the week too. This hard work has also been demonstrated by this weeks Reach certificate recipient, Logan W. Next week, we will be completing our Autumn Year 4 assessments to monitor the classes progress this term.

Happy half-term everyone! It has been a long half-term but the children have settled in fantastically to Year 4 and worked incredibly hard, which has been reflected in their assessments taken again over the week. Well done, you all deserve a well earned break. I look forward to seeing everyone back on Monday 2nd November. A huge well done to Logan H, who received this weeks REACH certificate for his descriptive writing.
Over the week off we have a TT Rockstars battle set against Leopards class, which ends on the morning of Monday 2nd November. Best of luck! You also have reading and spellings to practise ready for the next spelling test on Friday 6th November.
Friday 16th October:
Cheetah Class have produced some lovely story writing this week, planning and writing a story across the week. They applied their descriptive writing features well to create fantastic descriptions of characters and settings. We have also looked at Black History Month for our PSHE, creating posters of inspirational people in history. A huge well done, to both Luca (who was last week's certificate winner) and Cerys for their REACH certificates, demonstrating brilliant qualities in Cheerful Cheetah Class.

See you all for our last week in Autumn 1, next week.
Friday 9th October:
Cheetah Class have worked hard to build their confidence with our formal written multiplication method this week. At the beginning of the week we all found it tricky but by the end of the week we can now all multiply a 3 digit number by a 1 digit number. Well done! I have also been impressed with the everyone's descriptive writing. We have been able to include adjectives, similes, alliteration and personification to clearly describe different scenes. Our REACH nomination hasn't been revealed for this week yet, so we look forward to finding out on Monday.
Homework this week is reading, spelling, times tables and a My Maths activity.
Have a good weekend everyone.

We have also built up to writing our own conversations in English, using all the speech rules we have learnt. To end the week, we have had Stand Up Derbyshire Day were we have taken part in fitness and mindfulness activities as well completing a pledge of how we can be active.

Well done for everyone for making it to the end of our first week! I have really enjoyed getting to know everyone in Cheetah Class and look forward to getting to know everyone more in the coming weeks. This week has been a busy week getting to know the new routines, completing assessments and enjoying REACH week. For REACH week we have made placemats, positive message cards and leaves for an achievement tree alongside looking in our school rules and values.
