In Autumn Term 1 we will start the year with our recovery curriculum. This just means that we will be focusing on bridging any knowledge gaps from Year 2 due to the lockdown last year.
We will be reviewing GAPS (Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling) from Year 2 and Basic Maths Skills from Year 2 in Number, Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication and Division. This will enable us to move on in Autumn Term 2 with the Year 3 curriculum with more confidence.
Some of our foundation subjects will be put on hold during this period of recovery. However, we will be learning Science, PE, RE and PSCHE.
In Science, we will be looking at Forces and Magets and learning about pushes and pull, as well as how different surface friction affects movement. We will explore which materials are magnetic and which are not, as well as learning about the earth's magnetic field.
In PSHE, we will be thinking about emotions and learning to develop strategies to handle different feelings.
In RE, we will be exploring Christian practices and beliefs, including how a Christian household may differ or be similar to our own.
In PE, we will be learning skills in Rugby and Gymnastics.
