Welcome to our class page! My name is Miss Berrington and I cannot wait to start the new year with Tulips. My major passions in life are the RAMS as well as teaching. I am a huge lover of music and vinyl, so any opportunity to use this to inspire learning will be used in our classroom.

If you wish to contact me, please do so via class dojo rather than email, as I check this on a more regular basis. I will sign your children's planners every Friday so feel free to leave a note if you need to.

In English this term we will be reading Street Child. This is a thought provoking story set in Victorian London.  We will be continuing to look at settings and character description as well as language features  and the issues the story raises. We will explore the text through drama and discussion as well as creating our own writing. This book provides the perfect stimulus for our topic.

In Maths, we will be continuing to practise knowledge we have already covered in the autumn term, as well as looking at fractions, decimals and percentages. We will explore and investigate how we can apply the  facts we know to different problems and question types.

PE this term will be on Tuesday and Friday afternoons.  Don’t forget your kit!

Weekly Update...

15.02.19: What a TOP week. We have been writing speeches and debating in English and Topic lessons, our classroom was transformed into the Houses of Commons. Dillon was a fantastic Mr Speaker and the children really took on their roles as MPs...'Order, order!' had to be said a few times.

A big well done goes to James M, Ben D and Owen for their fantastic achievements with Riverside Real. They attended the Royal Concert Hall last week for winning their football league. They received both team and individual trophies. WELL DONE BOYS!

Good luck to the RAMs in their cup game against Brighton tomorrow!!!

Here's a sneaky peek at what we've been up to...
The Snow Queen came to see us on Friday...Oh no she didn't!...Oh yes she did!...

We have been busy bridge building!  Take a look at our amazing constructions...
On Friday 9th November we visited Trent College to meet the author Robin Stevens who writes the 'Murder Most Unladylike' series.  The children were fascinated to hear all about how she became a writer and even got the opportunity to buy some signed copies of her books!  If any parents are looking for some exciting texts for Christmas or birthdays, Tulips highly recommend these books.
