Welcome to our class page! My name is Miss Berrington and I cannot wait to start the new year with Tulips. My major passions in life are the RAMS as well as teaching. I am a huge lover of music and vinyl, so any opportunity to use this to inspire learning will be used in our classroom.

If you wish to contact me, please do so via class dojo rather than email, as I check this on a more regular basis. I will sign your children's planners every Friday so feel free to leave a note if you need to.

In English this half term we will continue reading Street Child. We will be continuing to look at settings and character description as well as language features  and the issues the story raises. We will be using the text to inspire our writing and in the next few weeks we will write newspaper reports.

In Maths, we will be moving on to co- ordinates, ratio and proportion and geometry. We will continue to practise all of our maths skills by solving problems presented in lots of different ways.

PE this term will be on Thursday and Friday afternoons.  Don’t forget your kit!

Weekly Update...

27/3/19 After the Easter break Y6 will be embarking on their SRE (Sex and Relationship Education) module. The materials used to deliver this curriculum have been very carefully and sensitively selected to ensure the right amount of information in the correct manner. If you have concerns over the content of these materials please do not hesitate to contact me or Miss Aldis. The materials are available for viewing if you so wish.

12.04.19:  What an amazing week we have had. The children thoroughly enjoyed our Robin Hood themed cluster week. We made hats, shields and designed medieval villages. The children were lucky enough to attended a special assembly hosted by 'Birdman Bob'. He told us all about owls and we even has them flying around the hall...even I had a go! We also had an archery session and some of the children, Dillon especially managed to hit the target.

To round off our week, we finally moved into our new classroom. The children were excited to see our new room and were surprised by the echo! I would like to say a big thank you to all the children for all the hard work they have put in this term. Happy Easter!

The children have been given a pack of booklets to keep their brains ticking over the two week break. The answers can be found in the link 'Easter Holiday Homework Booklets' on Hydrangea class page.

We have been busy bridge building!  Take a look at our amazing constructions...
On Friday 9th November we visited Trent College to meet the author Robin Stevens who writes the 'Murder Most Unladylike' series.  The children were fascinated to hear all about how she became a writer and even got the opportunity to buy some signed copies of her books!  If any parents are looking for some exciting texts for Christmas or birthdays, Tulips highly recommend these books.
