Mr Almeida

In our class we have a total of 29 children, all eager to see what this year brings us. This year we have a huge focus on independence and Mr Almeida will be helping us to become the best children we can be!

This term our theme for our Topic is 'Land and Sea'. This will involve exploring some of the famous mountains of the world, identifying their location using an Atlas and begin to understand how these mountains have been created. Linking in with Science we will also be learning about the water cycle, and finding out what role the mountains play.

Planners will be checked on a Friday so please feel free to leave a note if you wish. My focus for homework this term will be on Mymaths, SPaG and reading. PE kits will need to be in school for Mondays (outdoor) and Thursdays (indoor).

The first week has flown by and it’s been an absolute pleasure meeting the entire class- lots of brilliant personalities which will surely make for an exciting year!

What a start to the school year! This term we have been focusing on addition and subtraction in Numeracy, Descriptive writing and poetry in Literacy, habitats in Science and lots more! The children have thoroughly enjoyed exploring the epic citadel on the ipad’s giving them a focus for their big write, our fantastic fitness day and even meeting their reading partners in reception.

Thank you to those who came to target setting evening. I look forward in working together with you all to help inspire and challenge your children to help them get to where they need to be!

Well Christmas is over and its time to start the new year! We have plenty of things to look forward to with our  Lower Junior Concert, Spanish day, PGL and plenty more! I have spoke with the children regarding new years resolutions and lots of them spoke about 'tidier bedrooms', 'trying new foods' and we even had a 'not stress my parents out so much'. So if you do see a sudden change in your child's behaviour, you now know why! Happy New Year!
