Mount Kilimanjaro

Welcome to Kilimanjaro Class!

Miss Berrington & Miss Cholerton

Year 3

We both love teaching and think we make a great team. Miss Cholerton is an avid football fan and will always support her TOP TEAM Derby County…up the Rams! Miss Berrington is being educated about football (by Miss Cholerton) and is enjoying this new hobby! She is also very passionate about the Great British Bake Off and Strictly.

Miss. Cholerton teaches during the first half of the week and you will see her in school Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Miss. Berrington teaches during the second half of the week and you will see her in school Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. We will check planners on a Monday and Friday, so please leave us a note if you wish. Our focus for homework this term is Mymaths, times tables SPaG and reading. PE kits will need to be in school on Mondays and Thursdays. Homework and My maths will be given out on a Friday.

Our Class Assembly is on Thursday 25th January.

Spelling tests will take place every Friday after the first week. 10 random spellings will be tested each week from the year 3 list. Our objective is that children will begin to internalise the spellings they need to know, rather than just learn a new list each week for a test. Please do not worry if your child has low scores to begin with, we will see progress as the term continues.

Oh yes, we are starting 2018 with a topic about Spain. We will be kicking off the topic with SPANISH DAY, on the first Friday back. We are going to do all sorts of exciting activities including taking off on a plane!

We will be practising and refining our map reading and geography skills this term as we discover what we can about this beautiful country. In addition to investigating the culture of Spain and some of its interesting locations, we will be applying our maths skills to plot areas of significance, as well as compare climate and weather using our graphing and data kills. We  can't wait to get stuck in...

Please keep your eyes peeled for Dojo pictures.
